One of the bands that pioneered thrash metal as a genre with a career that spans over 40 years, Anthrax is a name that any self-respecting metalhead will not only be aware of but rightfully revere. While the band may have gone through numerous lineup changes over its long lifespan, every iteration has still been unmistakably Anthrax, and it was no different when the group shook the foundations of Manchester's O2 Apollo to its core on Thursday evening. Playing to an audience of dedicated fans who missed out on seeing them last year due to cancelled festival appearances, this show was truly not one to miss with onlookers experiencing a piece of metal history, especially when the tour was co-headlined by legendary German thrashers Kreator who helped to popularise the movement in Europe
Of course no metal show is complete without supports that match the energy of the headline act, in this case being joined by the iconic Testament to complete a lineup of metal royalty. For thrash metal fans like Gigraphy team member Nic, to say the night was unforgettable would be an understatement.
