Taking to the stage at Manchester Academy 2 this weekend, British rockers The Heavy played to a sold out show, with their blend of rock, funk, and soul that makes them so unique. Supported by the funk rhythms of Lawi Anywar, Josh was there to capture the amazing tunes that the night had to offer.
The Heavy
Playing their signature genre blend since 2007, the band recently released their sixth album Amen, with the album being the tour's namesake. You've undoubtedly heard their tunes in the media before, with their tracks "Small Change Hero" and "How You Like Me Now?" being the most recognisable. Their diverse set of influences and styles make them an act that is constantly evolving, and never disappointing.
Lawi Anywar
Supporting The Heavy with his own genre-fusing beats, Lawi Anywar's infectious bass riffs and super smooth voice were the perfect opener for the headline act, getting the whole crowd grooving and maintaining an air of cool, calm collectedness that only fed into his presence on stage. Without a doubt one to look out for!
