While the gig saw about a school classroom size in attendance, it was nothing short of amazing. Last week at Manchester Academy 3, we saw what essentially became an intimate gig with Lake Malice and Blackout Problems, who both delivered back-to-back performances that left the crowd buzzing and drenched in sweat.

Kicking off the night, Lake Malice took the stage with a vengeance, pulling the audience into their dark, genre-defying world. From the industrial noise of Black Turbine to the hypnotic pull of Eternal December, their set was a whirlwind of raw energy. The live debut of 3D Robocop was a real hit, while the closing track Blossom saw vocalist Alice diving into the crowd, and guitarist Blake rocking out which was well received.

Then came Blackout Problems, with a set that was equal parts cathartic and chaotic. From the explosive opener DNA to the genre-bending cover of Voodoo People, their energy was relentless and the crowd loved. Highlights like Quicker Than Death, featuring Lake Malice, and the haunting encore FUNERAL transformed the night into an unforgettable experience.
